What the decoder does with your inputs

EEOCdeadline does not log the date of the incident you enter into the deadline decoder. Your inputs are processed entirely in your browser and are not transmitted to our servers in identifying form. We aggregate state and employer-type bucket counts only — we never log incident dates, free-text inputs, or URL query strings.

When you submit the decoder, we record a single analytics event containing:

  • State abbreviation (e.g. CA)
  • Statute route (e.g. title-vii)
  • Employer-type bucket (e.g. private)
  • Employer-size bucket (e.g. 20-plus)
  • Determination class (e.g. deadline-future)

We never record: the incident date, the computed deadline date, free-text content, IP beyond what GA4 anonymizes by default, or session-stable IDs that could correlate one visit to another beyond GA4's first-party cookie.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 with anonymized IP. Consent Mode v2 is configured so that analytics_storage defaults to granted (necessary for site improvement) and ad_storage defaults to denied unless you opt in via the consent banner. You can change your selection at any time.

Cookies

We use a small set of cookies:

  • _ga, _ga_* (Google Analytics) — anonymous first-party identifiers for site usage measurement.
  • eeoc_consent_v1 (this site, localStorage) — records your cookie-banner choice so we do not show the banner on every visit.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell personal information.
  • We do not embed third-party trackers beyond GA4.
  • We do not run interstitial popups or lead-capture overlays.
  • We do not record decoder inputs server-side.
  • We do not use session-replay or fingerprinting.
